Previous scooter-riding experience is mandatory. A test drive is required before departure. Anyone unable to ride safely may ride as a passenger with their partner or cannot join.
Drivers need a licence valid in Italy and a credit card for deposit (Visa/Mastercard only; no debit). Minimum age: 18 for drivers, 15 for passengers.
The tour lasts 4 hours. Allow 1–1.5 hours before departure for check-in, test drive, damage check and contract signing, plus 30 minutes after: approx. 6 hours total.
Vehicle: Vespa 50cc or Zip. Recommended max combined weight: 160 kg (353 lb). Max speed: 48 km/h (29.8 mph) on flat roads, 15 km/h (9.3 mph) uphill. Seat height: 81 cm; weight: 88 kg (194 lb).
Rain policy: tours run whenever safe. Light rain does not stop the tour. In heavy rain, the group may stop and wait; if needed, Vespas return with the tour leader and the tour continues by minivan. Persistent heavy rain before departure means the tour runs by minivan. Bring a raincoat and spare clothes.
